Less Stress.

The podcast and the book of the same name, RE-IGNITE is based on the three principles that will set the foundation for everything you do in life.

These principles are:

  1. Less Stress

  2. Better Sleep

  3. Unbeatable Mindset

In the episode, we’ll focus on Less Stress.  Stress reduction is a critical foundational element that will support whatever we desire to do, now and in the future. Since these three Re-Ignite foundational principles are interconnected, you can’t discuss one without referencing the others.

So, there will be topics introduced briefly, but rest assured, we’ll do a deep dive during the upcoming episodes.

Back in the day, and by that I mean all the way back in prehistoric times, man developed a fantastic process to change state from placid to ultra-focused in the event an attack from a predator was imminent.

Cortisol was release, blood pressure rose, and access to the prefrontal cortex was restricted.  This complete and immediate biological transformation allowed the human body to maximize its biochemistry for immediate action in the face of danger.

But, there was a down-side to this response.  Cortisol increases inflammation, the source of all illness.  So, maintaining this state was never a part of the human design, and as such prehistoric man would quickly return it more placid, steady state.

Fast forward 200,000 years and welcome to the age of acceleration!  We now can control our environment to such an extent that we are counteracting our evolution!  Hence, modern times means we’ve exchanged our alignment with the circadian wake-sleep cycle with all-nighters.

Hence, we’ve moved our nutritional needs outside the parameters of optimal performance. Therefore, we treat sleep like an inconvenience instead of the regenerative process that it is.

First, we must deal with the stress monster!
